Dr. Franck Semah received his M.D. degree from Paris VI University in 1990. After a neurology residency in Paris, he worked at la Salpêtrière Hospital during 4 years as neurologist. He then completed his specialist nuclear medicine training and moved to the Nuclear Medicine department of the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA) in Orsay, where he became in 1999 head of the Nuclear Medicine and Clinical Research Unit.
In 2008, he joined the University Hospital of Lille, where he became professor of Nuclear Medicine. He is now Head of the Department of Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and Physiology in Lille.

His research is focused on brain imaging in epilepsy and neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer disease. One of his main interests is the anatomical and functional alterations of the hippocampus in temporal lobe epilepsy. He has published more than 100 articles in clinical and imaging journals.
